Digvijay Trivedi, a lawyer from Bhayander, has died in an accident in Mendhwan Pass. The accident took place at around 10 in the morning when he was coming to present his side on behalf of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad in favor of the sadhus who were killed in a mob attack in Dahanu court yesterday. His traveling companion was seriously injured. Trivedi (MH 04 HM 1704) lost control of the car and overturned on the side of the road.
Meanwhile, the number of accused in the Gadchinchle murder case has now risen to 141. Of these, the number of 9 juvenile offenders has now increased by 1. A total of 10 people are now in the Juvenile Correctional Institution in Bhiwandi. The six new accused in the murder case were produced before the court today and have been remanded in police custody till May 19.
Of the 106 people already in custody, five have been remanded in police custody till May 16, while the remaining 101 have been remanded in judicial custody. In addition, 19 accused have already been sent to police custody.
Two monks and driver stopped in Gadchinchale village in Dahanu taluka near the Union Territory of Dadra. The villagers stopped the vehicle near the Forest Department outpost near Gadchinchale village within the limits of Kasa police station and started beating them in the vehicle.
