Some chaotic elements damaged the statue of Lord Shankar on Friday late night in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. The villagers became angry after knowing that the Shiva statue was damaged.
After the information, officers with police force of several police stations reached the spot and assured to install a new Shiva statue and take strict action against the chaotic elements.
In relation to the incident, the village head has given a complaint against unknown people. in the village of Sheikhpura Kabiruddinpur of Atraulia police station area, Shiva temple was built on the land of the village society about 15 years ago. A statue of Lord Shiva was also installed in the temple. There was also a fair of devotees here in the month of Savan.
There are no priests living on this Shiva temple. The villagers used to lock and open the temple gate. The lock on the temple gate was not being closed since the month of Sawan. Late Friday night, chaotic elements entered the temple and damaged the statue and escaped.
The villagers came to know about the incident in the morning when some women reached the temple to worship. A large number of villagers reached the spot and became angry as soon as the information of Shiva statue was damaged.
After the information, officers along with the police force of several police stations reached the spot. After talks with the village head and villagers, the administration assured to remove the fragmented Shiva statue and install another statue and take stern action against the chaotic elements.
CO budanpur Sheetla Prasad said that late night, chaotic elements damaged the Shiva statue. The intention of the chaotic elements was to create disturbance in the area.
further told that after talking to the villagers, it has been decided that a new Shiva statue will be installed in the temple and strict action will be taken against them by identifying the chaotic elements.
